Beloved Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.

US performer Finn, who featured in iconic television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

An Extensive TV Career

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous well-known programs, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
