British Culture Secretary to Hold Talks on Maccabi Tel Aviv Fan Ban
A law enforcement official from the central England region has requested an urgent review of the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv's fans from attending the upcoming game.
The commissioner, who oversees the force, states that this appeal aims to determine whether the ban is suitable, necessary, warranted, sensible, and a proportionate step to achieve a lawful objective.
"This must include consideration of all and any appropriate, alternative options," the official emphasizes.
The commissioner has also asked to examine the written decision and suggestion from the advisory group, as well as the police assessment.
He stresses, however, that the ultimate ruling rests with the committee and the police.
