Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Legal authorities report that a ex- physician stands accused of committing assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
