Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Predictions
The Gunners' 10-game winning streak was ended by the Black Cats before the international hiatus, however will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be quite close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
This suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.
West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still Forest manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
They have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
