Netflix Selects Perfect Actor for Bentham in the Hit Series Season 3
The Secret Organization is set to make a major impact in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until the next season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has now been chosen.
The streaming service revealed this week that the skilled actor is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. The role can use their power to morph into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. Escola, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that role re-envisioned as non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.
This performer is joined by several other new cast members who will portray Baroque Works to reality, featuring leader the main antagonist, portrayed by the seasoned performer, an emerging star as another operative, and a familiar face, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of the fictional land.
Though Bon Clay is a key figure of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a notable change in the timing of their first appearance, one that could signal more adjustments to the story’s structure.
Their mix of sharp comedic timing and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the character. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and multiple awards for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.
Netflix's live-action One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on March 10th, 2026.
