Ways these Broncos together with their 'play-dough' quarterback could end that Chiefs' dominance.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage features text commentary of Sunday's games via multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after last week's discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.
Notable during those contests was the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the final quarter versus the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this weekend.
But it was positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.
The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver won that contest.
They executed the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers instead they could plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.
At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big and recent running back JK Dobbins is a player they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).
I love that the coach the Broncos' leader has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.
That shows how Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush and maintains in positive down and distances.
This has benefited QB the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – just behind a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw all over, but they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.
His assets are his mobility, being able to throw while moving, as well as finding different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you constantly rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defence has to cover the area downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.
Nix has bitten back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach likes that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can truly build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
Payton owns a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against an elite team at its best? Since that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this path.
They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and that's exactly what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.
Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.
Patrick Mahomes stated the Chiefs have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss by the Jaguars.
After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.
It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
